A good start to the year, photographically, with a short break on
Hiddensee. Very cold but, as ever, beautiful, peaceful and relaxing.
The first morning the wind was ferocious and the chill-factor must have
taken the temperature down to -20c or thereabouts, almost too cold to
capture the sunrise ..... thank you Rohan for the warmest winter
trousers that I have ever worn.

the air was so clear that, in this photograph, the church steeples of Stralsund (some 20 miles
away) are clearly visible on the horizon.
